The Labour government’s 2020 campaign policies included phasing out coal-fired boilers and moving away from fossil fuels for low to medium process heat users. Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) unit prices are also set to continue increasing under a Labour government.
Therefore, it is critically important that we have strong data and information now to back up our requests for government support to transition to low-emission heating options in a practical, feasible way and under a sensible time frame.
The survey has been designed with the help of both greenhouse growers and energy experts. We would really appreciate if you can answer as many of the questions as you can.
If you would prefer to have someone phone you to complete the survey instead of doing it online, please contact Karen by email or phone to arrange a good time to do this.
We are working with the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA) to develop a package of information and support for industry. We need current, robust data to help us to identify where to prioritise our effort and levy investment on your behalf.
The data you provide will be aggregated and anonymised to provide industry facts and figures to support TomatoesNZ and Vegetables NZ’s advocacy for appropriate government support. We may also identify opportunities for you to receive specific support or services for energy and emissions reduction. We will contact you to discuss these opportunities if they arise and we will not share your individualised survey data publicly (or with government) without your explicit permission.
Thank you for your help in completing the survey by 6 November 2020:
