Our Story

Hi, I’m Stefan Vogrincic, Managing Director of Grower2Grower.

Agriculture and horticulture have been part of my life from an early age. I grew up on a dairy farm, where I helped milk cows and care for the land. Later, my father and I built a 0.3-hectare glasshouse to grow tomatoes, marking the beginning of my journey into protected cropping.

Over the past 30+ years, I’ve gained hands-on experience growing a wide range of crops including tomatoes, cucumbers, capsicums, and eggplants. I’ve also grown rock melons, lettuce, beans, and courgettes. In addition to my growing experience, I worked in a sales and advisory role for a leading nursery, supporting growers across the sector.

The idea for Grower2Grower was born out of frustration—I found it difficult to access practical, relevant growing information in one easy-to-use platform.

The first version of the Grower2Grower website launched in 2014, with just a handful of growers aware of its existence. The initial feedback was encouraging, and through further research, I identified a clear gap in New Zealand’s protected cropping industry for this type of resource.

In 2018, we relaunched the website and introduced consultancy services as part of our offering. We’ve been fortunate to receive support from several highly respected companies who believed in our mission—without them, Grower2Grower would not be what it is today.

In 2021, my wife Marie joined the business full-time to help expand our services. Together, we relaunched the site once again to enhance functionality, improve engagement, and ensure growers can interact with us more easily and effectively.

Our readership continues to grow rapidly, with many of our articles now republished on international platforms. We’re proud to welcome visitors from over 100 countries around the world.
