Energy Under Pressure: Growers Invited to Pukekohe Open Day
Join Tomatoes New Zealand and Vegetables New Zealand on 14 May for site visits and supplier discussions showcasing real-world energy solutions, cost savings, and practical pathways for the season ahead.

Energy Demonstration Site Visits | 14 May 2026| 8:45am – 2pm

Vans will take you to visit three Pukekohe based glasshouse operations demonstrating real savings made and lessons learnt from completed energy efficiency projects. Technologies include; a biomass boiler, humidity screens, vertical fans, and a transition from natural gas boiler to industrial heat pumps with thermal energy storage tank.

Lunch will be provided and the tour will conclude prior to the start of the afternoon Energy Event in the afternoon.

Please register your interest in attending the site tours via email to dinah.cohen@tomatoesnz.co.nz by 7th May. Places on the tour are strictly limited. We reserve the right to limit allocation of seats to one per business. Financial assistance available for South Island growers to attend. Please email Dinah for details.

This afternoon event provides growers the chance to have meaningful conversations with suppliers of different heating systems and greenhouse energy saving tools. Having access to at least one year of your current power bills will help you get the most out of these conversations.
