Celebrating 200 Editions of Grower2Grower: A Milestone for Our Growing Community

Celebrating 200 Editions of Grower2Grower: A Milestone for Our Growing Community
Reaching the 200th edition of Grower2Grower is a milestone that deserves both celebration and reflection.

What began as an idea to create a platform for commercial greenhouse growers to share knowledge, experiences, and innovation has grown into a trusted industry resource. Today, Grower2Grower connects growers, advisors, suppliers, researchers, and industry partners across New Zealand and beyond—and it would not be possible without the ongoing support of our advertisers, readers, and contributors.

Advertisers:

To our advertisers, thank you for believing in the value of an independent, grower-focused publication. Your support goes far beyond marketing. By choosing to advertise, you help make it possible to keep the magazine free and accessible to everyone working in controlled-environment horticulture. Your commitment demonstrates confidence in the industry’s future and ensures growers have access to practical, relevant, and timely information.

Readers:

To our readers, whether you have been with us since the very first issue or have only recently discovered the magazine, thank you. Your feedback, questions, and ongoing engagement are what keep the content grounded in real-world challenges and opportunities. The strength of this publication comes from the diversity of its audience—cucumber and tomato producers, capsicum growers, berry operations, flower growers, consultants, academics, and innovators all share a common goal of advancing protected cropping.

Contributors:

To our contributors, your willingness to share your expertise is what makes Grower2Grower truly valuable. From technical articles and crop management insights, to research summaries and personal reflections, your contributions support continuous improvement across the sector. In an industry where experience is often held tightly, your knowledge-sharing strengthens the professionalism and resilience of the entire community.

Beyond being a source of information, Grower2Grower plays an important role in industry good. The magazine helps raise awareness of critical issues such as plant health, biosecurity risks, new technology developments, market trends, and workforce challenges. By presenting these topics openly and objectively, the publication supports informed decision-making at both business and policy levels.

Grower2Grower also provides a platform for advocacy—ensuring the voices of growers are heard and respected. As environmental regulations evolve, energy considerations shift, labour dynamics change, and disease threats continue to emerge, having a central hub for reliable communication and expert perspectives is essential. The magazine contributes to a stronger and more connected protected cropping industry, one that can adapt and grow sustainably.

As we celebrate this 200th edition, we look back with pride—but even more importantly, we look forward with optimism. The controlled-environment horticulture sector continues to innovate, improve, and expand. The challenges are real (energy and regulations), but so are the opportunities. With your ongoing support, Grower2Grower will continue to help growers navigate new technologies, changing climates, emerging varieties, and evolving consumer expectations.

Thank you for being part of the journey so far. Here’s to the next 200 editions—and to the success of every grower working to feed our communities with skill, dedication, and passion.

Kind Regards

Marie and Stefan Vogrincic
