“Another year, another incredible response from everyone who supported our Cancer Society raffle.”

This year, our goal was once again to raise between $2,000 and $3,000 for the Cancer Society through the Grower2Grower Golf Day raffle.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who participated, we are delighted to announce that we have exceeded that goal, with $4,443 raised so far!

We also received some very generous individual donations, which were greatly appreciated. The donation link is still open for anyone who would like to contribute, and we are hopeful that we can receive a few more donations and get as close as possible to $5,000.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated a prize, bought raffle tickets, donated or otherwise supported this great cause. Without your generosity, we simply could not do it.

Why This Cause Matters to Me

This year, it was particularly hard to explain why we continue to raise money for the Cancer Society.

It has been 17 years since my Dad passed away from cancer, but that doesn’t make it any easier to talk about. Watching someone you love suffer through cancer is something that stays with you.

While the amount we raise through our raffle may seem small compared with the enormous amount of funding needed for cancer research, prevention and support, I believe that every dollar helps. If lots of people each contribute what they can, together it can make a real difference.

Cancer affects so many of us, whether directly or through family and friends. The Cancer Society provides vital support to people living with cancer and their whānau, while also helping fund research, prevention and other services.

So once again, thank you to everyone who helped us raise this money.
