Following the great success of Diamond, Phormium launches Pearl: a new diffuse climate screen
Pearl offers energy savings of 47%, while its moisture-wicking yarns help maintain a stable and healthy greenhouse climate

Following the great success of Diamond, Phormium is expanding its innovation portfolio with the introduction of Pearl, an advanced diffuse climate screen that gives growers full control over the greenhouse climate. Pearl follows the successful launch of Diamond earlier this year, further reinforcing Phormium’s position as a leader in smart screening solutions.

Pearl has been specifically developed for use on the lower wire bed of a variable shading system such as Phormium’s OptiPAR. What makes OptiPAR unique is that growers are no longer restricted to a limited number of fixed shading levels. Instead, they can continuously adjust the shading level anywhere between 20% and 100%. This allows for exceptionally precise control of light levels inside the greenhouse, fully tailored to the needs of the crop.

Pearl has a HortiScatter value of 83%, resulting in a high degree of light diffusion. As a result, light is distributed very evenly across the crop, improving both vertical and horizontal light uniformity. This ensures that every plant receives the optimal amount of light while significantly reducing the risk of crop damage. When Pearl is used in an OptiPAR system, higher daily light integrals can be achieved without overexposing the crop, ultimately resulting in higher crop yields.

Pearl offers energy savings of 47%, while its moisture-wicking yarns help maintain a stable and healthy greenhouse climate.

At leading companies such as Labeau, Pearl is already demonstrating its added value. Combined with Noctis Thermo in an OptiPAR system, it enables precise climate control, resulting in vigorous crops, uniform growth and lower energy costs.

With Pearl and OptiPAR, Phormium demonstrates that innovative greenhouse climate management and maximum crop yield can go hand in hand.
